Suspension & steering

Suspension and steering repair

Worn suspension makes a car harder to control and wears out tires early. We lift the car, check every joint and bushing, and show you exactly which part has worn.

Signs it’s time to bring it in

  • A clunk or knock over bumps or potholes
  • The car feels bouncy or floats after a dip
  • Loose or vague steering, or play in the wheel
  • The front dips hard when you brake
  • Uneven tire wear
  • A whine or groan when you turn the wheel

What we do

  • Shocks and struts
  • Ball joints, tie rod ends and control arms
  • Sway bar links and bushings
  • Wheel bearings
  • Power steering pumps, racks and leaks

How pricing works

A written price before we pick up a wrench.

We inspect on the lift, then quote the repair with parts and labor listed separately. If one side is worn, we’ll tell you whether the other side needs doing now or can wait.

Labor is [LABOR RATE] an hour, charged by the standard time for the job, not the time on the clock. Parts and labor are guaranteed for [WARRANTY MONTHS] months or [WARRANTY MILES] miles.

Suspension & steering: common questions

Should shocks and struts be replaced in pairs?

Yes, across the same axle, so the car handles evenly. We won’t suggest doing all four unless all four are worn.

Do I need an alignment after suspension work?

After most steering and front suspension repairs, yes, because replacing those parts changes the geometry. It’s included in the quote when it’s needed.

Is it safe to drive with a clunk?

Usually for a short while, but don’t leave it. A worn ball joint or tie rod can fail. Book an inspection and we’ll tell you how urgent it is.
